In Print and DPI competitions, NO subject to be over two years old. An image should not be used in more than ONE media format within the same season.

After preparing images for submission to digital competition, please submit to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

For each image submitted to the print competition, please forward a small digital copy to (email to follow) 

RULES: PRINT & DPI CATEGORIES

  1. General – Open.
  2. Portrait – Open.
  3. Candid – Open. Street Photography – unposed and unaware.
  4. Flora & Fauna – Title must include name of group species subject. For example ‘Herring Gull’ rather than ‘Gull’. However, if group name is ‘Dandelion’, and this is the only species, then this is acceptable.
    English titles accepted, but if Latin name is known please supply both.
  5. Landscape – Including Seascapes, Cloudscapes & Cityscapes but not internal images of buildings or structures.
  6. Digital Art – Artistic, Creative or Abstract, created in the camera or on the computer. [Please see further notes below in DPI rules]
  7. Black and White. – Open.

PRINT RULES

A maximum four images per evening with no more than two in any one category.

ALL PRINTS MUST BE MOUNTED.
MOUNT size to be 500mm x 400mm. Prints must be suitably supported on the back to be considered for entry.

Print Competition entries to be handed in at the meeting prior (two weeks) to the Competition. However in extrene circumstances, the titles and categories to be provided to the secretary, and the mounted prints can be left in the dry facilities of Felicity’s shed, NO LATER than midday on the Saturday before the competition.

The Print Secretary respectfully requests that all prints entered for competitions are backed up on a CD, memory stick [labelled with name or membership number] or emailed at same time as submitting actual prints. This is to make selection easier for external competitions, including those against other clubs. The recording media will be returned to the author at the earliest opportunity. Authors who are unable to provide a digital copy of the print will be catered for accordingly.

Members are invited to enter up to 4dpi images in competitions, with a maximum of 2 in any category. All scanned images must be the work of the author. All images contributing to the final picture MUST be the work of the author. CLIP ART IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Images must be titled and sized correctly, [1800 pixels on the longest side]

DPI Competition entries to DPI secretary by email only, and by midday Saturday prior to the competition.

GENERAL

Please try to provide images with appropriate titles as judges prefer this.

It is the author’s responsibility to place images in the correct category.

The relevant media secretary has the right to redirect to another category, or refuse entry, if entered in the wrong category.

Mount boards can be purchased through the club, at a discounted price in comparison to High Street suppliers.

Mounting board bought through the club will be pre-cut to 500mm x 400mm, and can be purchased as a single board or multiples thereof
